We started OK Gear because we believe the outdoors are a place everyone belongs.

And we’re passionate about helping people gain access to these spaces by reducing the barriers that stand in the way.

Quality gear is expensive, but when well-cared for, it continues to be useful for a long time. We provide our community of consignors and customers the option to earn cash by selling gear they no longer need and buy gently used gear for new adventures. This loop ensures clothing and equipment stays in use as long as possible, keeping it out of the landfill and lessening the need to buy new.

The more people are able to experience the outdoors, the more they value these places — and the more they are protected.

  • Camille

    (she/her)

    FOUNDER

Camille loves to ski, gravel bike, & ride her horses in the mountains. She studied Tourism & Outdoor Leadership and has worn many hats in the outdoor world since, from retail to farming to guiding. Upon relocating to the Kootenays, she realized the region had a ton of quality gear stashed in garages but no physical hub for people to buy and sell the goods. She started OK Gear in late 2022.

  • Alistair

    (he/him)

    TECH SUPPORT

Alistair loves trip planning, paper maps, and fixing things (along with skiing, biking, and trail running). He grew up sailing and skiing on BC’s coast and works as a forest firefighting pilot during the summer months. In the winter, you can catch him in the store, where he is affectionately known as Tech Support for everything from ski boots to label printers.
